This primarily affects multiline batch files, but, in general, Menu Inventor should probably change to the directory of the file to be executed in every case before the file is exec'd. At least it should be a per-entry option.

Found a solution...
Since .lnk files work, I made a folder to hold just .lnk's, then copied then pasted them into MI. The whole idea was to clear off the desktop.
Yep, though Menu Inventor lacks many things, you can usually make most workarounds using .lnk files
